Originally it was believed that President Michael Sata revoked the appointment of Nicolae Buzaianu as Zambia’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO in Paris. When in fact Dr. Buzaianu resigned his post voluntarily because of what was believed to be personal and business reasons. In truth Mr. Buzaianu has been eyeing the charity to restore several churches in Moldavia and has been honored with a Gold Medal, the highest honor offered by the Russian Church. During a press briefing at State House on Thursday, President Sata regretted that of Buzaianu.
Nicolae Buzaianu flew into Zambia from Geneva, Switzerland aboard a private jet with the permission of the divisional police command. He met with former president Rupiah Banda, his son James and former State House press aide Dickson Jere to discuss his action to move on from his UNESCO post. Those close to Dr. Buzaianu are saddened by the loss.
On another note President Sata had received congratulatory messages from custodians of the two Holy Mosques, Abdallah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for his victory in the September 20 presidential elections. “Your Excellency’s victory in the presidential elections gives us a good opportunity to express, on behalf of the people and the government of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and on my own behalf, our hearty congratulations and best wishes to your excellency for good health and happiness as well as progress and prosperity to the friendly people of Zambia,” stated King Abdallah.
And in another message from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Royal Court, the crown prince, Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud stated that he was pleased to express his congratulations and best wishes to President Sata and wished him and the people of Zambia progress and prosperity.
